Opening Hours
In an effort to reduce the numbers of patients in our  waiting rooms during times of social distancing, the majority of our consults will currently be by telephone.
Face to Face consults are still available and encouraged to ensure that general health is maintained, but initial consultations will be by phone.
Please remember, that if you have a fever,cough,
sore throat or shortness of breath please call and notify our reception team before you come in to the Clinic.

Dr Chris Woollard

Dr Chris graduated Medicine at Flinders University in Adelaide and has worked in various locations and roles around the country. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He has no "Special Interest" as he enjoys the full spectrum of General Practice, including training the next generation of Doctors through supervision of medical students and GP Registrars. He settled in Hervey Bay with his wife and three boys in 2016. 


Dr Phil Thorp

Dr Thorp, originally from Chicago USA, has been in Australia for 20 years. He has been an Australian citizen for 15 years. Dr Thorp is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. After graduating from University in Canberra, Dr Thorp settled on the Fraser Coast and has called it home ever since. Dr Thorp enjoys paddle boarding, gardening and cooking and his special interests in medicine are Skin Cancer Medicine and Preventative Health. He has certificates in both skin cancer medicine and skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland. At the moment he divides his time between regular GP work and skin cancer surgery. He is non-traditionally handsome and writes his own bios.

Dr Nick Yim

Dr Nick Yim is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2007, his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2011. He grew up in Brisbane and has decided to remain permanently in Hervey Bay. Dr Nick has interests in chronic disease management such as Diabetes, Respiratory Disease, Cardiac Disease and Preventative Health. He is passionate in medical advocacy and education and he holds positions within the Australian Medical Association, Fraser Coast Local Medical Association and University of Queensland. A reasonable fisherman and established local food and wine critic, he can always find a better price than you can, on anything.

Dr. Ken Goldston

Ken graduated from the University of Queensland School of Medicine in 1974 and spent five years of residency in the general practice stream at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He spent several years as a solo practitioner in Alpha Hospital and Jericho in Central Western Queensland and moved to Hervey Bay to join his friend Kerry McKeon in the Torquay Family Practice in 1981.

This background ensured his dedication to the concept of continuity of holistic family care, cradle to grave presence, and access to affordable, comprehensive medical care with the support of an empathetic practice team.

Dr Goldston offers acute care, preventive assessments and planning, procedural skills including comprehensive skin surgery and male sterilisation ( vasectomy).

Dr. Chris Cameron

Dr Chris Cameron grew up in Toowoomba and completed his medical training at the University of Queensland in 2010.  Initially Chris pursued training in Intensive Care Medicine and later in Internal Medicine.  After working in various positions within remote communities in both Western Australia and the Northern Territory he developed a strong focus on working within indigenous communities.  


Prior to completing his MBBS he studied a Bachelor of Arts (French and Spanish Studies)/Bachelor of Science (Anatomy) at Monash University, Melbourne.  

Chris is well integrated within the Hervey Bay community and is committed to continuing to contribute to the strong and diverse place he has made home.  In my spare time, I enjoy renovating my very old Queenslander and spending time with family, friends and energetic dogs.   He is very passionate about emerging technologies and digital transformation.

Dr. Tobias Wade

Dr Wade completed his medical degree in 2010 at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Science in 2004 focusing on evolutionary genetics, and a Bachelor of Nursing in 2007. Dr Wade spent 3 years working in Caboolture Hospital and Hervey Bay Hospital. The vast majority of this time was spent in the emergency department and in various surgical specialists. Dr Wade entered general practice in 2014.  Dr Wade completed his Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer in 2016 and was certified as a Skin Cancer Specialist by Skin Cancer college of Australasia. He also Specialises in advanced and complicated skin cancer excisions, flaps, and skin grafts with a special focus on the head and neck. He has special interests in mental health and has received training in counselling and cognitive behavioural techniques. Dr Wade spends his free time with his wife, young son, and enjoys board games, card games, woodwork and is a Brisbane Broncos fan!


Dr. Rob Cruickshank

Rob was born in Inverell NSW, and went to Qld Uni to study medicine. The Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners was completed in 1990 and a Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice in 2013 (focusing on rural emergency medicine). After many years working in country areas in Qld, Rob & Jenny moved to Inverell to care for Rob's elderly mother. After her passing they moved closer to their adult children in Brisbane, but the city wasn't for them. Rob enjoys playing the bagpipes when he gets time. Rob has a keen interest in diagnosis and management of skin cancers (has a Diploma of Dermoscopy), children's health and other areas of general practice. In 2019 Rob completed a certificate in clinical occupational health.

Dr. Sharna Bennett

Dr Sharna Bennett has joined the practice as a part-time General Practice registrar. She has spent the past three years working at Hervey Bay Hospital. Sharna completed her medical degree with the Joint Medical Program of Armidale and Newcastle in New South Wales while having her three beautiful children. Previously, she completed a degree in Health Science, majoring in podiatry. Sharna is committed to treating the Hervey Bay community.
